When I was 17, My father pulled me aside one day and said boy your going to graduate in less than a year, So you might as well know this now. We do not have the money for you to go to school after high school and we are not going to go in to debt for you to school. This was no big surprise to me as I knew that every thing my father ever had he worked his ass off for it, So I ended up joining the Army so I could use the G.I. Bill to pay for my Collage education.
After my enlistment was up and I got out of the Army I had 50K with my G.I. Bill to use for books and tuition. So for the next four years I went to school with a major in Computer science and a minor in Mechanical engineering. I had this grand dream I was going to be building robots. I watched way to much science fiction growing up, But I did end up working for a company that designed factory automation systems and the pay was good but long hard hours and a lot of travel time. As I worked my way up through the company my hard work payed off for me which allowed me to have a fairly comfortable life. So what is all this about well its about how I see things from my point of view at this time in my life.
I married a great lady hard working and very caring, but she has 3 brothers the oldest is 59 in two days and the youngest is 45. The oldest one has not had a job of any kind in 18 years the baby has not had one in 10 years and the middle one has never had a job other than a summer job as a kid growing up. I don’t under stand how a grown my can do this and expect other to support them. The wife and her sisters have all had jobs all there life. I just don’t under stand why they brothers are the way they are.
I JUST DONT GET IT.
